TITLE: Instructional Technology Specialist (District-wide position)
REPORTS TO: Director(s) of Curriculum and Instruction
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 Months (240 days)
SALARY: Based Upon District 12-month Certified Salary Schedule

QUALIFACTIONS:
Bachelor's degree required
Master's degree preferred in one of the following areas: Instructional Technology, Library Media Sciences, or Curriculum and Instruction
Valid Alabama Teacher Certification is preferred
Minimum of 3 years teaching, media specialist, or instructional technology experience
Proficiency with learning management system (LMS), multimedia creation tools, and instructional design software
Possess strong leadership traits with the ability to provide direction and guidance
Experience in the creation and delivery of technology rich professional development
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work with people of all ages and levels of technical skills while maintaining a positive and patient attitude
Well informed, efficient, and effective in selecting, using, and troubleshooting various technological devices and internal/web/cloud based applications
Takes initiative, detail oriented, and is highly organized RESPONSIBILITIES:
Be a technology leader that supports learning
Stay current in new and emerging technologies and uses of technology in education
Provides support and troubleshooting for the LMS, ensuring seamless course delivery and system optimization
Collaborate with technology director and school administrators to assess, create and implement technology integration based on school and district plan
Assist faculty and staff in selecting and implementing educational technology tools to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes
Facilitate the selection, installation, and start-up of all educational technology systems and equipment
Plan and implement technology-enriched workshops, training sessions and one-on-one coaching to help educators effectively incorporate technology into their curriculum
Participate with technology and curriculum and instruction teams to identify instructional goals and objectives and to develop long range plans to accomplish them
Administer technology related surveys and evaluate results data provided by district
Coordinate all resources needed to ensure the proper use and integration of technology
Assist in developing and managing local school technology plan, budget, and inventory
Attend required meetings and other professional development opportunities
Provide technical support for new and existing software used by students and staff
Required to have prompt, regular attendance during normal business hours
Other duties as assigned
