What to Expect Tesla is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented electrical engineering technician to join the MADE team(manufacturing, automation, development, engineering) at the Gigafactory in Sparks, Nevada. In this role, you will play a keypart in the design and development of new automation equipment and manufacturing lines, collaborating with peers tofabricate custom automated solutions. Responsibilities will include building low/high voltage electrical panels in our panelshop, installing and wiring electrical controls devices, and plumbing pneumatics. You will work closely with electrical andcontrols engineering teams, as well as your mechanical technician counterparts, to interpret designs, build equipment, andperform troubleshooting and commissioning on that equipment.The ideal candidate takes pride in their hands-on work, craftsmanship, organizational skills, and attention to detail. What You'll Do
Modifying enclosures and subpanels to prepare them for build (drill, tap, hole punch, knockouts, din and duct layout)
Kitting components, preparing wires, installing components and wiring control panels per UL508A
Building wire and cable harnesses and installing end connections (field wireables, Harting connectors, etc.)
Generating wire, cable, and device labels from engineering file exports
Assembling electromechanical subassemblies and installing devices in preparation for field wiring
Performing field wiring of control devices, per Tesla requirements, sometimes supporting remote installations (travel)
Running and testing network/IO cables, and various other interconnections between disparate control systems
Assembling and plumbing pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Maintaining, managing and procuring tools/consumables used in the shop and in the field
Delivering high quality work, and upholding a standard of craftsmanship through design, build, and implementation
What You'll Bring
2+ years' experience assembling and manufacturing electrical panels and or equipment from engineering drawings
Proficient in reading electrical schematics and wiring electrical control panels
Experience installing, wiring, and plumbing common control devices, using electrical meters to troubleshoot
Working knowledge of electrical systems theory with experience working on HV systems up to 480VAC
Hands-on fabrication experience using hand or machines tools (cutting, sawing, milling, drilling, tapping, measuring)
Ability to spot errors in the design/build phase and communicate issues early and often with engineering
Able to perform physically demanding work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
