Join the Thoreau Elementary Team!
Thoreau Elementary School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic Special Education Assistant to join our dedicated community of educators.
We are especially interested in candidates with experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and a background in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Developmental Delays in school settings.
At Thoreau, our core values-Community, Academic Excellence, Respect, Effort, and Safety-guide everything we do.
We are looking for someone who is committed to these values and eager to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students.
This position offers the opportunity to work closely with individual students in a substantially separate elementary classroom, providing one-on-one support through discrete trial instruction and ABA-based interventions.
Under the guidance of a BCBA and special educators, the assistant will collect data, implement behavior plans, and help students generalize academic and social skills across school settings.
We are a collaborative, student-centered school where all staff are valued members of the team.
If you're passionate about helping children grow, learn, and thrive-and you believe in the power of patience, encouragement, and joy in education-we'd love to hear from you.
