Job Summary/Basic Function
To carry out assigned activities, operations and programs within the police department including routine foot patrol, traffic control, crime prevention and events.
Primary and principle duties also consist of the prevention and detection of crime and the enforcement of criminal statutes or ordinances of the state or any of its political subdivisions. **This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Valid Utah Driver License.
Utah Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T) LEO State Certification(Active Status).
Work a minimum of 20 hours every 6 months
Letter of good standing with current employer
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to use word processing software Preferred Qualifications
Associate Degree
Experience as a Law Enforcement Officer
Employed full time as a Law Enforcement Officer
Spillman Knowledge
Experience working large crowd events and traffic control

Due to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), individuals who have worked in a salaried capacity for Weber State University are ineligible to be hired as an hourly or adjunct employee at Weber State for six months.
This is a reserve/volunteer position until the completion of Field Training Program (F.T.O) at which time the employee would be eligible to be moved into a part-time (as needed) position and receive pay.
Lastly, you must work a minimum of 20 hours every 6 months.
