The Opportunity

Lesley University invites applications for adjunct faculty to teach upcoming weekend, online and in-person classes in our Elementary Education area at the graduate level. Courses within this program prepare students for initial licensure as a teacher for Pk-6 grade, and provide future educators with the tools to effectively teach classes across Literacy, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Classes in this department are primarily taught on-campus and in-person.

Since adjunct faculty positions are ongoing, evergreen positions, your materials will remain on file and will be reviewed on an as-needed basis throughout the upcoming semesters. By submitting your application, you will be put into consideration for current and future adjunct positions within the Elementary Education area. We hire adjunct faculty on a regular cadence to support our Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. The specific course hired for is subject to change depending on semester, course catalog, and department needs.

Qualities & Capabilities

Required:

Master's degree in Elementary Education, Education or a related field

Relevant Massachusetts DESE license or equivalent from another state

5+ years of successful teaching experience at the PreK-12 level

Knowledge of and competence with basic tenets of social justice education

Experience in constructivist, inquiry-based learning with an emphasis on student engagement Preferred:

PhD or terminal degree in a related field

Demonstrated successful experience teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level
