Summary
As part of the Agency Relations Team, the Outreach & Engagement Specialist plays a vital role in promoting the mission, programs, and services of Opportunities, Inc. This position is responsible for developing and executing strategies that increase strengthen internal communications, foster a positive company culture, community engagement, and support fundraising efforts. The specialist leads outreach initiatives through events, social media, and relationship-building to increase awareness, recruit talent, and secure resources that help individuals with diverse abilities thrive.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Internal Communications & Culture
Develop and manage internal communication channels (newsletters, staff updates, intranet posts, etc.) to keep employees informed and engaged.
Manage company website content and optimization (SEO best practices) to highlight company culture
Support company culture initiatives by collaboratively working on employee engagement and recognition activities that highlight employee achievements and milestones.
Promote organizational values and foster a positive, mission-driven workplace. Recruitment & Social Media
Manage recruitment-focused social media campaigns to attract top talent and increase awareness of career opportunities.
Collaborate with Diversified Personnel Services to create engaging, mission-driven content.
Track analytics to evaluate the success of social media and recruitment efforts. Community Outreach & Engagement
Collaborate to develop and implement strategies to increase community involvement and volunteer participation.
Assist in outreach opportunities to raise awareness of the organization's services and impact at community events, job fairs, career fairs, Chamber of Commerce events, and other networking opportunities to build partnerships and promote services.
Develop and implement comprehensive community engagement strategies to connect with diverse groups and promote awareness of an organization's mission or programs. Fundraising & Grants
Support fundraising efforts by assisting with events, campaigns, and donor engagement activities.
Assist with grant research, data collection, and reporting to support the development team's grant-writing initiatives.
Collaborate with the Agency Project Coordinator to build relationships with prospective donors and funders. Events Coordination
Work with team to plan, coordinate, and execute outreach, recruitment, and fundraising events.
Serve as an on-site representative at events to engage attendees and promote services.
All other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
2+ years of experience in community outreach, fundraising, event planning, marketing, or related roles.
Experience with social media management and content creation preferred.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Self-motivated and proactive with strong problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.).
Valid Driver's License, proof of vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation. Work Environment
Work is primarily performed in an office setting with occasional travel to community events, job fairs, and partner locations.
Occasional evening, early morning and weekend work required to support events.
