POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for officiating Adult and/or Youth Recreational Hockey League Games. Candidate shall have or obtain certification as a USA Hockey Official at Levels 1, 2, 3 or above.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Communicate and enforce all applicable USA Hockey Standards and City of Glenwood Springs ice hockey rules clearly and calmly.
Ensure safety of players and fans; report any and all disturbances to Ice Rink Supervisor and Ice Rink/Program Coordinator; responsible for reporting any damage to facility by participants.
Must be able to attend monthly staff meeting, provide feedback to the supervisor or coordinator on strong points and opportunities for improvement; provide feedback to coaches and players during games; resolve coach issues and complaints. CORE COMPETENCIES:

Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing. EDUCATION, TRAINING & CERTIFICATIONS
Necessary:
Must be at least 16 years of age and have current certification as an USA Hockey official prior to working OR obtain within 12-months of original hire date.
Must possess ice skating skills and abilities commensurate to level of league play and maintain age appropriateness in line with USA Hockey officiating standards.
Game times: Weeknight evenings and weekends.
NECESSARY PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position will frequently require strenuous physical activity including: program set up, equipment loading and unloading, lifting heavy objects, kneeling, squatting, crouching, stooping, skating, and walking.
