Position Summary

Ninety percent of a child's brain development happens before the age of 5, and we're on a mission to help our youngest learners start strong!

Join Early Learning Corps as an Early Learning Tutor and you'll spend your days in a pre-kindergarten classroom to help students build skills and confidence. We'll train you to deliver proven activities and coach you every step of the way!

How does it work? Partnering with a teacher, you'll help enhance learning. Whether talking, reading, writing, singing, or playing with students, you'll be helping them to build early literacy and math skills.

With the extra attention and support, you'll make an incredible impact and help ignite a love of learning!

Core Responsibilities

Be a caring adult who's focused on helping students thrive

Support reschoolers with learning activities thoughout the day

Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach

Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into tracking software

Commit to your own growth through coaching and training

Share your experience with community Essential Qualifications

By the time you begin your services with Early Learning Corps, you should be:

Dependable and have a history of good attendance

Able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback

Prolific in basic computer skills (like email and navigating online)

Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing

18 years of agle or older with a high school diploma or equivalent

A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States

Able to successfully complete a background check Schedule

We are currently hiring for the 2025-26 school year.

35 hours per week (less in weeks with holidays or school release days)

Daytime hours (correspond with school start and end times)

Monday - Friday (no weekends)

Time off on holidays and school release days Part-time positions are also available at 27.5 hours per week

Compensation & Perks Package

Pay & Benefits

Full-time AmeriCorps members receive a paycheck (stipend) every two weeks. Compensation: $19.25 per hour served and additional perks!

Child care assistance - based on family size and income

Member assistance program Plus great education benefits, including:

Up to $5176.50 for college tuition or student loans (members 55+ can transfer this award to a qualified family member)

Federal student loan forbearance (payment puase) and interest repayment

Time accrual toward the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
