To successfully identify, mentor, and train OHM's future leaders. Purpose of the OHM Internship Program:
The OHM Internship Program is designed to provide university students enrolled in a Hospitality program with training and development across multiple facets of the business. It's all about the experience! Interns will rotate through multiple departments to gain hands-on knowledge and exposure to hotel operations.
Internship Program Destinations:
Program Introduction (2 weeks): Onboarding, OHM Culture, property orientation, and safety procedures.
The Heart of the Property - Housekeeping: Learn standards of cleanliness, room inspections, safety protocols, and the flow of laundry operations.
Operational Excellence - Front Office Management: Gain experience in guest service, check-in/check-out, reservations, cash handling, loyalty programs, and emergency procedures.
World-Class Service - Events / F&B: Develop knowledge of banquet/event service, BEOs, safety and sanitation, alcohol handling, cost control, menu knowledge, and guest relations. Interns in a 12-week program will spend the majority of their time in one area (front desk, housekeeping, or F&B), with 1 week in each of the remaining areas. Longer internships allow for extended departmental rotations.
Internship Requirements:
Must be a sophomore, junior, or senior currently enrolled in a university Hospitality program
3.0 GPA or higher
Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Strong organizational and communication skills
Willingness to embrace OHM's culture of guest service, safety, sustainability, and community engagement
