Position Summary
The EMS Instructor is a part-time position located at Clovis Community College and teaches in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings. Under the direction of the EMS Program Director, the EMS Instructor is responsible for preparing, delivering didactic, and laboratory education that parallels with the State of New Mexico and National EMS Standards curriculum. Duties are performed in the context of a comprehensive community college, understanding of the community college mission and philosophy will be critical to success.
Duties & Responsibilities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of three years' work experience in EMS
A NM certified instructor under one of the teaching institutions within NM or be able to get recognized as an NM instructor
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Current NM EMT Paramedic or EMT Intermediate license
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates degree or higher
5 or more years of work experience in EMS
Evidence of being detail oriented and demonstrates critical thinking and decision-making skills
Evidence of a strong work ethic with a proven track record of project completion, multi-tasking, and the ability to handle high-pressure environments. Plus, a willingness to accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.
Certification as an EMT or Paramedic Level I or II instructor
Experience teaching at the community college level
