Associate Attorney

Position: Workers Compensation/General Liability Attorney

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana 46204 / Crown Point, Indiana 46307 / Chicago, IL

Type: Full-Time Hybrid

Description:

We're looking for an attorney with 2-6 years of experience in Worker's Compensation (Defence) to join our team and work in our workers' compensation and/or general liability practice helping our clients with a speedy resolution of their cases.

Duties and Responsibilities:

prepare case evaluations.

Prepare and file pleadings.

Prepare for and attend hearings/depositions, site inspections, etc.

Present facts in writing and verbally to clients and others and argue on their behalf.

Correspond with all parties including opposing counsel, clients, etc.

Legal research

Develop case strategy

Draft briefs and pleadings

Negotiate settlements

Perform other duties as assigned Experience and Education:

Admitted to practice in IN (IL, WI a plus)

Trial experience is a plus

Intrinsically motivated, self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent research, written and verbal communication skills

Book of business a plus but not necessary

Background in civil law and workers' compensation
