The Plant Controller is a key member and strategic partner to both the plant management and corporate finance teams. The role will direct financial activities of the plant and manage communication of financial information to assist management. This position is a key role in the finance and operations teams; and is responsible for processes, operational improvements related to cost and inventory management, accounting and reporting operations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of inventory, capital spending and manufacturing costs. Regularly exposed to confidential information, requiring appropriate discretion. This is a fast paced, high-volume role with interaction with various levels of the organization including plant operations, leadership, strategy, procurement, and finance.

What you'll be contributing:

Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.

Performs month end financial close; including journal entries, accruals & reconciliations for inventory, costs, and general ledger accounts.

Produces weekly, monthly and annual financial reports along with any ad-hoc reporting requests.

Coordinates site finance for manufacturing variances, costing, general ledger accounting, performance metrics, inventory valuation and analysis, forecasting and budgeting.

Leads financial review and analysis to communicate results to plant management.

Analyze, understands and explains variances in key performance indicators and manufacturing costs; including monthly and year to date comparisons to budget and prior year to drive cost reductions and improve profitability.

Leads preparation of monthly plant forecast and communicate projections to plant management and regional leadership through monthly review call.

Works with other departments on daily and monthly production reporting; including reconciliation of raw material receipts & usage, work in progress and finished goods.

Coordinates and oversees physical inventories.

Leads preparation of detailed plant operating budget.

Assists with annual capital budget and reconcile project spend throughout year to ensure projects and the plant meet budget targets; communicate spend progress to project manager and plant management team.

Maintains plant equipment and fixed asset listings.

Works with senior leadership.

Follows SOX procedures, maintain proper evidence for support and communicate with audit team.

Provides support and supervision for Payroll and Accounts Payable processes.

Supervises front office staff

Additional duties as assigned by supervisor. To succeed in this position, you will need:

4 year/Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field is required

Manufacturing industry experience with focus on cost accounting. Previous supevisory experience is preferred

Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, business administration or closely related roles

Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP

Strong communicator at all levels

Supervisory experience preferred

Skilled in Microsoft apps, especially Excel; able to use various software

Excellent organization skills

Sound judgment and decison-making

Works well independently and in teams.

Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc. What's next for you?
