Job Description
The Ceramics Area is seeking several Studio Lab Assistants to work in the ceramics area in Jenkins Fine Arts Center. The position requires a weekly schedule and for active contributions to the area for the purpose of upkeep, maintenance, operations of facilities, and the educational mission of the studio. Some knowledge and experience of ceramics equipment and processes is beneficial.
Position includes the following duties:
Clean and organize instructional area, sinks, and common shelves
Clean and organize common tables, wheels, slab roller, kiln furniture shelves, and common shelves.
Check and report status of survey room to instructors
Check and report status of kiln room and glaze room to instructors
Check and report status of floors to keep dust levels at a minimum. Clean up all spills, pick up and mop as regularly.
The Student Employee may be asked to work evenings and/or weekends to serve the above duties and students more effectively.
Hourly rate will be $10 per hour.
Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.)
Preference will be given to students in the ceramics.
Art students and those interested in ceramics will be considered, and are encouraged to apply.
