Assist the classroom teacher in all aspects of programming and care to students
QUALIFICATIONS:
Team player with the ability to lead and develop strong relationships with co-workers, students and their families.
Ability to transfer students with physical disabilities.
Experience working with young children with disabilities.
High School Diploma or equivalent required; NYS Teacher Assistant Certification preferred (incentive pay base on level)
Bilingual Spanish a plus (incentive pay) ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with students individually according to individual education plan or individual program established by the classroom teacher.
Be involved with students in all group activities, including but not limited to: language groups, playground, adaptive physical education, etc.
Attend daily team meetings.
Assist teacher in all daily routines.
Assist in preparation and clean-up involved in all aspects of program.
Participate in conferences with teacher concerning curriculum for total program for each individual student.
Assist and train students in personal care needs, including but not limited to: feeding, toileting, dressing and washing.
Assist with loading and unloading students on and off busses.
Participate in staff meetings and in-service training.
Responsible for the safety of students under his/her supervision.
Adhere to the Agency's Corporate Compliance Plan and Code of Ethical Conduct.
Perform any other related duties as directed by the Teacher and/or designee.
Monday through Friday
8:30 am to 3:30 pm
Follows Kingston School District schedule for school closings
