The Security Dispatcher operates a complex communication system for Story Land; responds to emergency and administrative calls and dispatches public safety and public service personnel and equipment. This position is responsible for directing in-park communication calls, in-park radio traffic, and emergency communication coordination.

We are currently looking for a:

Roles & Responsibilities:

General Communication:

Operates a radio console and paging system; receives and transmits radio messages; broadcasts pertinent information as required.

Receives and transmit park transmissions via Two-Way Radios

Operates a telephone console; receives and relays messages; directs requests for assistance for security, law enforcement, and EMS to the appropriate agency; prioritizes calls for service and dispatches in an appropriate order.

Maintains a complete log of telephone and radio calls received and transmitted via a computerized dispatching system.

Inputs data into the computerized dispatching system to produce information for mandated and management reports; enters information into the computer; performs tests of emergency communications equipment.

Performs administrative duties as needed, using a variety of office equipment that includes PC, Windows software, email, faxes, word processing software, copiers, time clocks, paper shredders, and all other software or databases required for reporting or record maintenance.

Follow standard operating procedures for the park location.

All other duties assigned by leadership. Emergency Services:

Contact local law enforcement personnel when circumstances warrant.

Report and dispatch on security incidents and threats

Maintains accurate and professional communications with emergency responders during emergencies.

Assists with developing incident reports for emergencies. Education and Experience:

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; Equivalent work experience will also be considered

1+ year of previous experience as a dispatcher, highly desired Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.

Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with NH Child Labor Laws

Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Must have reliable transportation to and from your scheduled shift

Ability to address multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Ability to effectively and accurately communicate with external first responders and emergency personnel

Ability to operate a variety of electronic equipment, such as two-way radios, walkie-talkies, and/or personal computers

Must possess excellent listening, and note-taking skills

Must have the ability to safeguard confidential park information

Must have the ability to always remain alert and vigilant

Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Outlook

Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions

Must possess strong attention to detail needed for accurate data entry, report writing, and verbal communication Physical Requirements:

Ability to remain sedentary for extended periods of time throughout the entirety of the shift

Frequent sedentary motion, while sitting and utilizing computer or communication equipment

Ability to stand or walk long distances throughout the park, when needed

Ability to occasionally stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders

Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 30 pounds or more

Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet away Working Conditions:

This role will be predominantly based in an office setting with some exposure to all other indoor and outdoor park environments

Fast-paced environment with constantly shifting priorities and challenges

Subject to constant repetitive motion
