Description

Overview of Position: Groomers are responsible for the overall quality of snow grooming, providing a premier product directly influencing our guests' experiences. Grooming is a physically and mentally demanding department, often requiring flexible availability and long shifts.

Job Duties: The list below best represents many tasks you will be asked to perform during your employment at Windham Mountain Club.

Operate grooming machinery on all ski terrain. Includes grooming, moving, and compacting snow.

Prepare and maintain the highest possible surface quality for skiers of all levels.

Maintain full understanding and awareness of underlying pipework and obstacles across mountain terrain to avoid damaging infrastructure.

Conduct regular inspections of all mechanical equipment.

Perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs. Refuel machinery as needed.

Assist with cleaning and maintenance of Grooming facilities.

Immediately notify Vehicle Maintenance when there is a mechanical issue or when taking parts out of inventory.

Report to work on time with all necessary clothing and equipment needed.

Follow all safety policies and procedures at all times. Requirements

Job Qualifications:

Must be 18 years or older.

2+ years experience operating heavy machinery.

Previous mechanical experience.

Ability to remain alert for long periods of time, especially during late night/early morning hours.

Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively within teams.

Dependable and punctual.

Proactive, with a solution-oriented mindset. Physical Requirements:

Ability to safely operate a vehicle in adverse winter weather conditions.

Ability to lift and maneuver up to 60 pounds.

Ability to use required safety equipment without impediments.

Ability to work outdoors for long periods of time in variable weather conditions.

Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.

Ability to stand and walk on uneven terrain, including snow and ice covered surfaces.

Ability to climb stairs and ladders.

Work Schedule and Conditions: We are in the business of providing a premier product and experience for our guests. Traditionally our busy periods are during weekends and holiday periods which you will be expected to work. You can also expect to be asked to work extra hours or days on occasion, especially during the holiday periods.

Salary Description

$22 - $25/hr
