What to Expect As a Production Supervisor for the Cell Formation Team you will have the critical task of managing the priorities, people and equipment associated with the production line. Your experience in fast-paced production lines where process and equipment development are key features that will make you an ideal candidate for this role. You have a passion for employee development and enjoy the process of training and developing both new hires and veteran production staff. You are very hands-on and prefer to be on the production floor and have proven skills in both process and equipment troubleshooting, allowing you to easily adapt to constantly changing production environments. Agility in motivating people to safely adapt to new plans and high-pressure production goals is critical to be successful in this role.
What You'll Do
Execute on priorities and production plans provided by operations management
Manage, coach, mentor and support up to 35 production associates on shift
Execute and maintain Standardized Manufacturing instructions and Control plans
Support issue resolution including root cause investigation & corrective action tracking
Ensure quality standards are being met throughout the entire production process and support no defects from leaving a station or team area
Generate daily pass downs and quality reports for engineering and operations team. Ideally go above and beyond to ensure seamless shift changes with clear communication of biggest risks and mitigation methods
Monitor and ensure safety standards are met by all employees
What You'll Bring
Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in a manufacturing environment
3+ years managing or supervising teams of people in a high-volume production environment
Evidence of exceptional abilities
Experience supporting process development
Experience supporting equipment maintenance
Knowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing or 6-Sigma principles
Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal Essential Physical Demands:
Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours/day
Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs. and climb a 10" step and back down
The ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install vehicle parts of varying size and weight overhead, accurately and in allotted timeframes
Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain
Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/day
Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
Demonstrated ability to handle and manipulate tooling and mechanically fasten bolts within required cycle time, quickly and accurately during new hire training and maintaining ability throughout employment
Exposures to hazardous materials used in the painting process and ability to follow waste handling/disposal procedures
Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, PAPR, hearing protection, full-face respirators, gloves, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
