Job Summary
As a Patient Care Technician, you will perform a variety of technical and direct care tasks including CPR, vital signs monitoring, telemetry support, EKG acquisition, wound care, phlebotomy, and assisting with patient mobility and personal hygiene. You will be an integral part of the healthcare team, contributing to positive patient experiences and maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organized care environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver direct patient care within the scope of a Certified Nursing Assistant license.
Support clinical procedures and treatments as directed by nursing staff or physicians.
Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
Monitor patient conditions, respond promptly to call lights, and communicate effectively with patients and families.
Maintain accurate documentation and assist with administrative tasks related to patient care.
Ensure cleanliness and readiness of patient rooms and supplies.
Participate actively in team efforts and emergency response situations. Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant program.
One to two years of experience in a patient care setting, preferably acute care.
Telemetry experience is a plus. Licenses and Certifications
Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C) license in the applicable state.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Medical Assistant Phlebotomy certification preferred. Skills and Abilities
Strong knowledge of patient care practices and ability to maintain required competencies.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a caring and professional demeanor.
Proficiency with technology including electronic medical records and telemetry equipment.
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry varying weights, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform physical tasks associated with patient care.
Work Schedule
Per diem position with day shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
