1st shift - 6am-2pm
2nd shift - 2pm-10pm
Pay Rate
1st shift - $16.83/hr
2nd shift - $17.83/hr
**Sign on Bonus of $1,500 for Full Time new hires for 2nd shift only until 12/31/25 **
Elwyn seeks Residential Living Staff (RLSs) to provide supervision, guidance, instruction, and/or skill building to assigned individuals served within a specific program site regarding daily living activities, safety, and interaction with others. They provide active treatment at all times and adhere to standards, procedures and schedules established by the Associate Director, Unit Director, and Program Supervisor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports individuals in self-care and independent living skills with tasks including but not limited to bathing, nail care, meal serving, dining, meal clean-up, cleaning and straightening of living areas, and all areas of personal hygiene including the use of weather appropriate clothing
Supports individuals to best deal with personal, behavioral or social problems, either individually or in small groups
Supports individuals in the constructive use of leisure time; encourages individuals to participate in planned recreational activities
Escorts individuals to and from programs, actively supervises individuals during dining, recreational activities, medical and other appointments; knows and reports the whereabouts of their assigned individuals throughout their shift and assists support personnel in locating missing individuals
Assists in the development of and adheres to the implementation of behavior support and program plans developed for each individual
Reports and documents incidents concerning behaviors and other unusual incidents to program leadership
Maintains a safe living area for individuals, including the dining area and kitchen, by actively carrying out building safety routines (i.e. fire drills), and taking the initiative to correct safety hazards and/or reports hazards to proper leadership when unable to eliminate the hazard
Completes documentation (i.e. progress notes; incident reports, individual-related data) and other records essential to building and program management in a timely manner
Participates as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team by offering input regarding the individuals' status and needs in order to develop and modify plans to meet their needs
Completes routine visual count periodically throughout the shift to assure an accurate census and a check of building security (where applicable)
Observes and makes written entries in the log book and the individual's record of any behavioral problems and other unusual incidents; notifies program leadership of these incidents within timelines identified in the program protocols
Remains on duty until relieved by incoming staff
Follows all Elwyn corporate and program policies and procedures in the provision of care to the individuals; reviews all policies and procedures of the department as presented by program leadership
Regularly attends staff meetings, unit meetings, inservice and continuing education programs, attends all required inservice sessions annually
Gives feedback to supervisor regarding any issues affecting unit operations and care of individuals
Seeks information necessary for the accurate completion of job duties; uses reference materials to ensure accuracy.
Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), crisis intervention and medication administration using agency-trained protocols
Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience working in Human Services preferred
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage and prioritize multiple, often competing, priorities
Demonstrated strong attention to detail
Demonstrated strong time management and organizational skills
Demonstrated excellent judgment with the ability to independently solve problems and make decisions with little or no need for direct supervision
Demonstrated ability to anticipate future needed changes or identify problem areas and take effective actions
Must be able to perform CPR and crisis intervention using agency-trained protocols
Must possess excellent customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated basic experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and
Must possess a current, valid driver's license in state of residence, have a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience within the United States, and have an acceptable driving record.
