The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $77,000 to $97,000 plus up to 16% bonus
Summary
Performs random independent audits per the Enhanced QA/QC Plan of construction and maintenance related activities related to safety, quality and productivity and assure that operating procedures, materials, policies and procedures are all aligned in order to prevent future gas safety and quality compliance issues. Interfaces with construction workforce, public and regulatory agencies as required. Prepares and communicates reports for various activities in the department. Participates in team meetings to review findings and corrective actions.
Responsibilities
Perform focused and random audits of internal and external construction and maintenance crews to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Review construction, maintenance, and compliance records for accuracy and adherence to regulatory and company standards.
Conduct internal quality assurance and quality control reviews to identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
Perform re-digs to verify proper installation and compliance with specifications and safety standards.
Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., PHMSA and DPS) and company operating procedures.
Participate in developing and implementing corrective actions (NCR) based on audit findings and trend analysis.
Track and analyze QA/QC trends, prepare detailed reports, and present findings as required.
Attend all team meetings, collaborate, update, and communicate findings from the field to the supervisor and team members.
Communicate effectively with internal teams, contractors, and regulatory agencies to resolve quality and compliance issues.
Support training initiatives for field crews and contractors on QA/QC standards and best practices.
Complete all assigned training within the period allotted.
Provide inspection and audit services across multiple regions.
Identify potential safety hazards during audits and recommend preventive measures to mitigate risks.
Recommend enhancements to QA/QC processes, tools, and procedures to improve efficiency and compliance.
Maintain accurate and organized documentation of audits, inspections, and corrective actions for regulatory and internal review.
Maintain Operator Qualifications required at all times.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Minimum 5 years of gas distribution & operations experience,
Demonstrated understanding of utility operations and regulatory requirements,
Knowledge of Engineering, Construction and Maintenance standards in accordance with regulatory requirements
Skills/Abilities:
Work independently on assigned activities
Participate in implementation of corrective actions
Participate in monthly meetings with Inspectors, Supervisors, Managers, Contractors reporting on status of findings and corrective action plans
Track trends and make further recommendations on the Enhanced QA/QC Plan.
Interface and support Operations, Gas Supply, Regulatory Affairs to achieve relevant Company goals
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels
Ability to follow up and follow through with action items and dependencies
Possess the ability to work across organizational lines within the company
Flexible and willing to step up to take on tasks beyond a job description as required
Ability to manage competing priorities
