Position Title: CTE Instructor (various programs)
Reports To: CTE Director
Overview: The Moss Point CTE is seeking qualified applicants for an open pool of CTE instructor positions. This pool will be used to identify and hire instructors as vacancies arise in various CTE program areas. Qualified applicants will join a team dedicated to preparing students for both postsecondary education and high-demand careers through hands-on, projectbased learning aligned with industry standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
? Provide engaging, student-centered instruction in accordance with Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) curriculum frameworks.
? Develop lesson plans, assessments, and instructional activities that integrate academic and technical standards.
? Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, certifications, and safety standards.
? Supervise students in classroom and lab settings, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment.
? Collaborate with colleagues, industry partners, and advisory committees to enhance program quality.
? Support student participation in Career & Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) and competitions.
? Maintain accurate student records, grades, and required documentation.
? Foster a culture of professionalism, employability skills, and workplace readiness.
Minimum Qualifications
? Ability to obtain a valid Mississippi teaching license and appropriate CTE endorsement(s).
? Minimum of two (2) years of verifiable, relevant occupational experience in the related career field.
? Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
? Commitment to student achievement, equity, and workforce readiness.
Preferred Qualifications
? Associate's degree or higher in a related field.
? Industry-recognized certifications in a related field.
? Prior teaching experience at the secondary or postsecondary level.
? Experience working with diverse student populations.

Salary for this position shall be commensurate with the years of experience as determined under the policies and procedures of the Moss Point School District and in accordance with the pay scale.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board of Trustees' policy on evaluation of District personnel.
