Position Summary
A Research Scientist position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Jennifer Surtees to study pathways of DNA metabolism mediated by the mismatch repair (MMR) complex Msh2-Msh3. These pathways include post-replicative MMR, double-strand DNA break repair (DSBR) and triplet repeat (TNR) dynamics using the model system Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The project involves the development of cutting-edge approaches, with a combination of in vitro protein biochemistry and in vivo genetic analysis. The Surtees lab provides a collegial environment and has trained a diverse group of people over the years. We welcome scientists from all backgrounds and we mentor trainees at all levels.
Specific Job Responsibilities include:
Protein purification
Protein cross-linking for mass spectrometry
Testing functional effect of mutations on MMR, 3' NHTR and TNR pathways in vivo

Minimum Qualifications
PhD or MD with background in molecular biology, genetics or biochemistry Preferred Qualifications

Salary Range
$60,000 - $80,000
