Overview
A wonderful family of three in Miami, FL is seeking a full-time chef to join their family by February, with some dates in December if available. The family does travel and would love a chef open to doing some domestic and international travel. The family loves global cuisines, especially South Asian food, and prefer gluten-free, but overall they are easygoing with preferences and enjoy high-quality ingredient-forward meals.
Schedule:
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: dinners
Tuesday and Friday: off
Saturday and Sunday: lunch and dinner
Travel schedule:
When traveling, the chef is to be on call and time off will be given pre/post travel or during longer periods like summer, time off will be given in between trips (such as a week here and there)
Expected travel:
Summer:12 weeks in UK and EU. Chef can choose to stay the duration and travel around or go back to the US in between trips. Christmas: typically every other year
Responsibilities
Cooking lunch and dinner for two adults and one child, typically dinners will be family style except for dinner parties 2x per month (typically 7-14 guests). Occasionally host larger events and would have additional help for those.
Grocery shopping (organic, farmer's market, etc.) and restocking of the pantry.
The chef will be expected to send the week's menu the week before so the principals can advise on any changes.
Keeping the kitchen clean and organized. There is a full-time housekeeper to help but the family is looking for a chef who keeps their work space tidy
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is warm and family-friendly
Team player and good communicator with other staff
Open to traveling with the family would be ideal
Requirements
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Legally able to work in the US
Salary and Benefits
$130k+ depending on experience, training, and background. There will be PTO and paid holidays.
