POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Group Fitness Director, the responsibilities of a CrossFit Coach include preparing for and leading CrossFit classes. Good interpersonal and verbal skills are needed to drive the Association and Center objectives of improving the acquisition and retention of members. The ability to learn in a fast-paced environment and work in a team-setting with both staff and volunteers is a must. The CrossFit Coach should have the ability to apply creative problem-solving to ensure member satisfaction and retention, and have the ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The CrossFit Coach is responsible for creating and nurturing a seamless, meaningful YMCA member experience, from first point of contact with the Y to daily engagement of current members by demonstrating our core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

The CrossFit Coach will be responsible for the following:

1. Arriving on time

2. Preparing for class

3.Teaching with care and respect.

4. Providing clear instruction, demonstrating movements with proper form, and offering personalized scaling options

5. Cleaning up the room and locking up after class

6. Attend staff meetings and trainings, as required.

7. Demonstrate the Character Counts values of caring, respect, honesty, and responsibility in all dealings with members, guests, volunteers, and fellow staff.

9. Maintain a professional image through dress, actions, and relationships with others

10. Assist in delivering the highest quality of member service.

11. Ensure that the needs of the members are met.

12. Ensure the safety of members through adherence to Center and department emergency and safety protocols and procedures.

13. Build respectful and meaningful relationships with members, program participants, donors, and volunteers. Strive to model Y values through positive relationships with staff and members.
