Come work with a fun team that feeds everyone and serves up the best Pot Pie Soup! SMMC is looking for a dedicated Cook to join our kitchen crew and help us keep the good food rolling.

To be considered for this PRN position, you must live in Salmon, ID or surrounding area and/or indicate in a cover letter you are in the process of relocating to the area.

Requirements

What you'll Do:

Prepare and cook meals with consistency and care

Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and safe

Work as part of a supportive team that values collaboration

Bring energy and enthusiasm to serving patients, staff and the community.

Follows therapeutic diet menus and recipes.

Ensures that foods are stored, cooked, held and cooled to the appropriate temperatures.

Records temperatures in department.

Able to meet the standards established by department policy for the appearance of meal trays.

Able to meet the standards established by Federal and State Food Code for food temperatures and palatability.

Operates machinery used in peeling, shredding, slicing, straining, and mixing various foods.

Adheres to facility policies and procedures and participates in facility quality improvement and safety programs.

Organizes, prepares and serves foods for patients, guests, visitors, staff, physicians and special functions in an appropriate, attractive and safe manner.

Responsible for working with the Dietary Manager in the preparation and execution food related events for various organizational events. What We Are Looking For:

Candidate that has previous cooking or food service experience, but we'll train the right person.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; commitment to food safety and quality standards.

Positive attitude and team spirit.

Must have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and a current Idaho Safety and Food Handling Exam or Servsafe Food Handlers Certification upon date of hire or within 90 days of employment.
