Description
This individual will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of access control systems-including door strikes, magnetic locks, security cameras, and data/fiber infrastructure-in commercial environments. While programming expertise is not required, familiarity with system configuration is expected, along with a strong desire to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and test access control systems including magnetic locks, door strikes, and associated hardware.
Cut and fit door hardware to ensure proper integration and functionality.
Troubleshoot and repair access control and security equipment as needed.
Perform routine maintenance checks and system inspections to ensure performance and compliance.
Install and terminate data and fiber optic cabling infrastructure.
Install and maintain security cameras and alarm systems.
Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and manufacturer documentation.
Communicate effectively with clients and team members to coordinate job details and ensure customer satisfaction.
Travel to various job sites (local and out-of-state); a valid driver's license and clean driving record are required. Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience in access control system installation and troubleshooting.
Proficiency with commercial door hardware, including cutting and fitting door strikes and magnetic locks.
Familiarity with security camera and alarm system installation.
Experience with data cabling and fiber optic installation and termination.
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and blueprints.
Excellent diagnostic, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Ability to pass background check and meet security clearance requirements.
Strong organizational and time-management skills. Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant industry certifications in security or access control systems.
Programming knowledge or exposure to access control systems.
OSHA 10/30, manufacturer-specific certifications, or equivalent. Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools.
Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
Manual dexterity with strong hand-eye coordination.
