Position Overview:
The Director of Maintenance is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic direction, operational excellence, and continuous improvement of all maintenance functions across the facility. This position ensures that all equipment, infrastructure, and systems operate reliably, efficiently, and safely to support business objectives. The Director will lead a high-performing team, manage capital projects, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive innovation and long-term value.

Leadership & Team Development:
Lead, coach, and develop a diverse maintenance team, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Define roles, responsibilities, and career development pathways for team members.
Promote open communication, collaboration, and employee engagement. Strategic Planning & Execution:
Develop and implement long-term maintenance strategies aligned with business growth, product innovation, and operational goals.
Lead strategic initiatives to modernize equipment, reduce downtime, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Partner with senior leadership to forecast future needs and align maintenance capabilities with evolving business demands. Capital Project Management:
Oversee the planning, budgeting, and execution of multi-million dollar capital projects.
Prepare ROI analyses and secure necessary approvals.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget, with measurable impact on efficiency and cost reduction. Operational Excellence:
Establish and maintain standardized maintenance processes, including SOPs, startup plans, and preventive maintenance programs.
Implement and optimize CMMS systems to track performance, manage work orders, and control inventory.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies. Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to environmental health, safety, and facility operations.
Maintain and test internal alarm, evacuation, and fire protection systems.
Oversee timely filing of permits and regulatory documentation. Financial Stewardship:
Develop and manage operating and capital budgets.
Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality.
Provide accurate financial reporting and forecasting. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Serve as a key liaison between maintenance, engineering, operations, EH&S, and other departments.
Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Support readiness events, audits, and business continuity planning. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field required; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in maintenance and manufacturing environments.
Demonstrated success in managing large-scale capital projects and leading high-performing teams.
Expertise in CMMS systems, preventive maintenance, and reliability engineering.
Strong understanding of PLC programming, electrical systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
