Description:

Ensures that business practices, policies, and dealings of the Company meet all applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Represents the Company in regulatory proceedings, interprets and prepares legal documents, and provides counsel on legal and regulatory matters. Provides analysis of proposed legislation and its potential impact on the Company, drafts proposed legislation, and assists Director with managing internal and external regulatory legal counsel. Assists with developing and maintaining a positive company relationship with regulatory commissions and other stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited Law School

Admission to the practice of law in Indiana or Ohio OR eligible to receive admission

5+ years of relevant working experience

Experience practicing law as in-house counsel, at a law firm or private practice, or in a government entity

Experience working with the Public Utility Commission of Ohio (PUCO), Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC), or Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience working as in-house counsel for a major utility company

Experience representing a company in regulatory proceedings before state and federal agencies

Experience as supervising authority over outside counsel counsel
