Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest as a Patient Access Specialist I, where your role is vital in delivering compassionate and high-quality customer service. This position focuses on ensuring patients are accurately scheduled and registered for various clinical and hospital services, supporting them throughout their care journey, including managing financial responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities

Schedule and register patients using specialized software, ensuring data accuracy including patient identification and insurance verification.

Verify referrals and pre-authorizations for applicable services.

Conduct registration interviews prior to patient visits.

Perform point-of-service collections such as co-payments and co-insurances, and manage daily cash drawer operations.

Operate multi-line phone systems to handle incoming calls professionally and efficiently.

Respond to patient inquiries, ensuring comfort, dignity, safety, and confidentiality.

Complete daily assignments and general administrative tasks, including mail processing and workflow improvement research.

Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned. Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred.

Healthcare experience is advantageous.

Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare revenue cycle is preferred. Licenses and Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is encouraged. Skills and Abilities

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.

Proficiency with insurance verification systems and strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and various office equipment.

Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
