Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Work under the direction of classroom teachers and intervention specialists

Support students and teachers in their daily responsibilities (i.e. regular education classrooms in instruction, instructional materials, student records and classroom environment)

Support and maintain standards of behavior needed to ensure a safe and productive learning environment, including routines and rituals established by the teacher

Work with small groups of students or 1:1 to reinforce academic or social-emotional skills, including assistance with pre and post assessments of students

Maintain positive relationship with parents and students.

Work within boundaries established by the teacher for discussing student's academic and behavioral issues with parents

Work with the faculty and school leadership to frequently examine student data for ongoing refinement of instruction and assessment.

Share best practices with other teachers and collaborate with them to improve instructional and assessment practices.

Facilitate regular parent/guardian communications and conferences to discuss student progress.

Keep the classroom environment organized, attractive and safe. Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED required

Paraprofessionals must meet one of the following to be Highly Qualified: Associates Degree or a minimum of 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours or successfully passing the Para Pro Assessment.

Possess or be eligible for an Ohio Educational Aide Permit required.

A minimum of two years' successful experience working with children preferred.
