Qualified candidates must have a Master's Degree in School Psychology, Specialist Degree preferred. State of Michigan School Psychologist certification required.
The qualified candidate will have the knowledge and ability to lead district and building teams in implementing a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support Framework (MTSS) and apply the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) in determining eligibility on Multi-Disciplinary Teams (METs). Candidates must also have knowledge and ability to apply the rules in finding students eligible under Section 504. Experience and training in administering and interpreting psychological evaluations within an education setting is preferred.
Support ALL students through consistent implementation of MTSS framework.
Works within a team to complete Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and supports the development of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
Collects data and provides systematic observations for students experiencing emotional, learning, or attention problems in the classroom.
Knowledgeable about evidence-based instructional to support social-emotional needs for students at all tier levels.
Provides interventions and makes recommendations to assist high-risk students in the classroom.
Conducts extensive psychological evaluations and re-evaluations of referred students.
Leads Multi-Evaluation Teams in eligibility decisions following MARSE rules.
Interprets psychological data to school personnel, other concerned professionals, parents, and the student.
Provides teachers and administrators consultative support for academic and social-emotional intervention.
Participates in professional learning opportunities to keep abreast of new developments and best practices in the field to best support and plan for students.
Strong written communication skills for psychological reports required for all initial and re-determination evaluations.
This position reports to the Director of Special Education.
