Full-time; Long Term Contract 100% Onsite $21.36 per hour About the Role A community-focused organization in Sacramento is seeking a Resident Services Technician to support vital programs in economic development, self-sufficiency, family services, and homeownership.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping individuals and families succeed through supportive services, case management, and resource coordination.

You ll work directly with residents to assess needs, connect them with services, and monitor their progress making a meaningful impact every day.

Key Responsibilities Interview, assess, and counsel program participants; refer residents to services such as education, employment, job training, health services, child care, credit counseling, and transportation.

Conduct follow-up to ensure participants complete referrals and access needed support.

Maintain accurate case files, progress notes, and reports in compliance with funding requirements.

Develop and implement outreach activities to promote services and meet departmental goals.

Build strong working relationships with community partners, agencies, and resident groups.

Respond to public inquiries, prepare correspondence, and provide program information.

Gather, update, and track participant data to evaluate program effectiveness.

Support administration of Resident Services programs including FSS (Family Self-Sufficiency): monitor contracts, calculate escrow credits, complete required HUD documentation, and support participant progress.

Manage a Public Housing caseload: verify tenant information, determine income and rent, explain program rules, and ensure compliance.

Qualifications Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in social services, housing services, community programs, or case management.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Associate or bachelor s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, or related field highly preferred.

Knowledge & Skills Understanding of social services, community resources, and case management practices.

Strong interviewing, assessment, and data-evaluation skills.

Ability to interpret program rules and communicate them clearly to residents.

Highly organized, able to manage deadlines, shifting priorities, and a diverse caseload.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and under pressure.

Proficiency with computers, Windows-based applications, and modern office equipment.

Comfortable working with individuals from diverse social, economic, and cultural backgrounds.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and accurate recordkeeping.

Additional Requirements Valid California Driver License with an acceptable driving record.

Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking during site visits, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs, and extended periods of computer work.

Must pass a pre-employment physical examination.
