Assistant Solicitor - General

Summary: The position requires a Juris Doctorate from anaccredited law school and applicant should be a member in good standing withthe State Bar of Georgia. We will show apreference for candidates with at least one year experience working in aprosecutor's office. Experience for thepurpose of this position includes volunteer work, internships, orexternships.

We are seeking a self-starting individual whowill be able to jump into a position with a full case load and hit the groundrunning. The successful applicant willbe trained as necessary but will need to be able to quickly pick up policy andprotocols. Applicant will be expected tohandle all aspects of the prosecution of cases, including the filing ofaccusations, arraignment, discovery, trial, and appeal. Applicant can expect an extensive amount oftime spent in the courtroom, including trial and motion practice almostimmediately.

Requirements:

• Graduatefrom an accredited law school with a Juris Doctor Degree in law

• Oneyear of experience as a practicing attorney

• Mustbe a member of the Georgia State Bar

• Musthave and maintain a valid United States Driver's License (Class C), asatisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR) and the ability and willingness todrive a county vehicle; if assigned job duties require the use of a vehicle

• Minimum18 years of age

Employment is contingent on passing a mandatoryPhysical/Drug Screen/MVR and Background Investigation.

Salaryrange: Based on qualifications and experience
