Basic Qualifications
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Electrical Computer Aided Design (ECAD) Librarian in our Scottsdale, AZ location. Remote work is also supported.
Xpedition knowledge highly preferred. EDM knowledge desired.
Specific Duties and Tasks:
Knowledge of Siemens Xpedition EDM based Libraries.
Fulfill component librarian duties, including the creation of component footprints, generation of schematic symbols, and entry of new parts, as well as maintenance of existing components in the ECAD library system.
The candidate will collaborate with electrical, components, manufacturing, and other engineering disciplines in the development of ECAD library parts to support the Siemens Xpedition Enterprise Tool Suite.
Works under general supervision
Create schematic symbols and footprints (cells) for parts using Siemens EDM
Library tools as requested by HW designers
Create related surface mount and through hole pad stacks, custom pad stacks for heat sinks, back drill/press fit connector pins
Use existing part creation processes, implement new processes to improve symbol creation/approval/release
Work with Part request systems to manage and direct creation, approvals and status
Interface with layout designers for PCB footprints and schematic designers for schematic symbols
Interface with component engineering team and documentation team for new part specifications
Interface with manufacturing engineers as needed for updates to existing library parts as needed
Involved in all aspects of symbol development, maintenance and support of CAD library at all levels Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have timely response, high level of accuracy and precision, with great attention to detail
Able to work well in a fast paced environment (dealing with teams in various locations)
Self-motivated team player, flexible to adapt to varying workloads, tasks and spec. requirements
Customer oriented attitude and good multitask time management skills and ability to prioritize work.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Good written and verbal communications skills
Fulfills role as a reliable team member and understands own role within team
Manages time to ensure an assignment's completion
Understands part data-sheets or has some knowledge of reading technical data
Demonstrates initiative, applies personal talent to practical solutions
Able to accept and integrate constructive feedback If needed, will train you to be capable in the following:
Skilled in researching and reading manufacturing data sheets to extract pertinent
information
Experienced in high pin count, fine pitch parts, QFN modules: BGAs, connectors, RF parts
Knowledgeable in PCB layout guidelines and standards
Experience with Siemens Electronic Data Management System (EDM), Library
Management System
Working knowledge of IPC7351, MILSTD1835, JESD30 and related library standards

Salary Note
This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
Combined Salary Range
USD $24.40 - USD $26.17 /Hr.
