The Country Club of Virginia is seeking a dynamic and energetic Banquet Supervisor. Primary responsibilities include the execution of wedding, corporate, and social events in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. The ability to manage simultaneous events across a large campus is crucial to success.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate banquet events, ensuring service excellence from setup to breakdown
Lead, train, and motivate banquet staff to provide attentive and professional service
Work closely with the Banquet Manager, culinary team, and event planners to execute functions seamlessly
Ensure superior communication to all team members on events and scheduling needs
Maintain event timelines, oversee room setup, and ensure décor and service meet event requirements
Monitor staff performance, delegate tasks, and provide on-the-spot coaching as needed
Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and service standards
Handle member requests and resolve issues promptly and professionally
Assist with scheduling, inventory management, and maintaining equipment in good condition Qualifications:
Previous banquet, catering, or hospitality supervisory experience preferred
Bar and beverage knowledge
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing event needs
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Strong written communication skills, with proficiency in basic computer applications including Excel and POS software
Ability to lift/carry up to 25-50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods

The Country Club of Virginia is one of America's oldest and finest private, member-owned clubs. CCV is currently ranked #7 on the Platinum Clubs of America list, out of thousands of recognized clubs. Located in Richmond, CCV was organized in 1908 and is one of the nation's largest full-service country clubs. The club's 8,000+ members support 1,111 acres containing two beautiful clubhouses situated seven miles apart, 54 holes of golf, 24 tennis courts, five squash courts, three platform tennis courts, a 100,000 square foot fitness complex, five pools, five dining outlets, three snack bars, and special event venues. In season, CCV employs a staff of over 800 and has an operating budget in excess of $51 million.
The Banquets operation at the Westhampton Clubhouse executes events ranging from intimate dinners to receptions for 1,200. Each day is different, but the quality and the expectations remain consistently high. Annual event revenues exceed $3 million.
The Banquet management team consists of a manager, assistant manager, and two supervisors. The supervisor will ensure platinum service is extended to all our members and guests while working with the staff to execute a variety of functions on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated hands-on management style, solid administrative skills, and a planning mindset with the ability to successfully execute events and lead a winning team. Upscale banquet serving experience is required.
