QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: High School graduate or equivalent
LICENSURE: Valid Iowa Driver's license
EXPERIENCE: Minimum age of eighteen (18) years, acceptable driving record, ability to drive van in all weather conditions ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Represents Prairie Lakes AEA with a pleasant and friendly attitude.
Handles mail as described on the mail procedures sheets.
Loads and unloads vans.
Maintains external and internal appearance of the delivery van.
Maintains a neat and clean work environment (including garages)
Assures that the van is fueled and properly serviced.
Monitors and informs supervisors of maintenance required on van, including mileage, body integrity, tire wear and fluid levels of van and then alerts media supervisor of any problems.
Maintains regular planned delivery schedules.
Drives a predetermined route in a safe and reasonable manner, within the limits of Iowa traffic laws.
Delivers mail, media and materials to the proper drop point within a building
Accurately delivers and maintains records associated with the delivery and pickup of material in all weather conditions.
Documents all special delivery materials, (e.g. non-mail, non-lending library items) on route sheets.
Reports all accidents to the supervisor or his/her designee and completes required reports and forms
Communicates concerns of local education agency contact people to supervisor or his/her designee for the efficient resolution of identified concern(s).

Understands other duties and responsibilities may be assigned, according to current needs of the agency or districts served PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to travel between schools and sites served.
Normal, routine levels of activity related to bending, carrying, climbing, hearing, lifting, reaching, sitting, standing, vision and walking, and may also involve above-average levels of activity at times that can't always be anticipated.
Ability to lift and carry fifty (50) pounds.
Sufficient manual dexterity to be able to operate all equipment needed to complete responsibilities.
