About Us:
Continental Heavy Civil is a nationally recognized leader in marine construction, infrastructure development, and pile driving operations. Our award-winning safety program is at the heart of every project we deliver. We are actively recruiting a qualified Safety Division Representative to support field operations on marine and heavy infrastructures projects.
While this position falls under the Safety Division, we are open to candidates with either a safety or project engineering background who have demonstrated field experience in the construction industry. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, field-tested, and ready to support project execution with safety as a core value.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct daily site inspections, audits, and safety observations on marine and construction projects
Support field crews by promoting safe work practices and providing mentoring, leadership, and management guidance to maintain compliance with company and regulatory safety standards (OSHA, USCG, FDOT, etc.)
Assist in incident investigations, reporting, and root cause analysis
Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, job hazard analysis, and behavior-based observations.
Collaborate with Superintendents, Quality Control, and Project Management teams to proactively address safety concerns
Monitor and document safe work practices through project reporting platforms
Travel to job sites along Florida's west coast (up to 75%) Minimum Qualifications:
1 year of management experience
Working knowledge of OSHA, USCG, FDOT standards and construction best practices
Strong communication and leadership skills in field-based settings
Proficiency in digital documentation and safety reporting tools.
Must live in the West Coast Region Preferred Qualifications:
OSHA 30
First Aid/CPR/AED/BBP Certified
Familiarity with FDOT, FDEP, OSHA, USCG standards
