Serve as Clinical Director for the Lincoln Scholars Program Rural Medical Education Track

(LSP): Coordinate clinical rotations and activities within the curriculum. Advise and mentor

students of the LSP. Participate in scholarly activities and provide service to the profession and

Examples of Duties

I. TEACHING 55%

i. Coordinate supervised clinical experiences for students of the LSP.

ii. Advise students of the LSP and support their professional development.

iii. Assist with clinical curriculum planning, development, and implementation, and

assist with the evaluation of students.

iv. Coordinate didactic components of clinical courses and offer resource sessions in

areas of expertise.

II. SERVICE 15%

i. Participate in committee activities at Program, School, and University levels.

ii. Attend faculty/staff meetings, professional development activities, and retreats.

iii. Serve on LSP Committees as assigned.

iv. Assist with accreditation activities and assist in the development of program

policies as requested.

III. ADMINISTRATION 25%

i. Oversee the LSP clinical sites and facilitate student onboarding for clinical

rotations.

ii. Collaborate closely with other schools and colleges within Southern Illinois

University system. Act as liaison for the LSP to hospital systems and outpatient

clinical locations and recruit new clinical sites and preceptors.

iii. Assist the Director in ensuring Program compliance with University and School

standards and accreditation requirements.

IV. RESEARCH 5%

i. Contribute to the identification and implementation of appropriate research

projects and publications.

ii. Offer support to other faculty conducting research projects.

iii. Conduct research in areas of particular interest and present findings to the

learning community via publications/presentations.

iv. Attendance/presentation at state, regional and/or national professional meetings.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Doctor of Medicine / Doctor of Osteopathy Degree

* Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

* Three or more years of experience in an active clinical practice

* Clinical experience in a rural setting

* Post-secondary teaching experience

Supplemental Information

The budgeted annual salary range is $160,000 to $176,000, representing the academic base salary only, which is funded through the University. The final academic base salary will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget considerations. Additional clinical compensation will be provided separately through a member practice agreement.
