Job Summary:
The Survey Technician assists in conducting field and office surveying tasks, including data collection, equipment setup, and processing survey data. This role involves supporting survey crews, using survey instruments, and ensuring accurate data collection. The Survey Technician plays a key role in maintaining equipment, preparing reports, and supporting the delivery of high-quality survey projects.
Primary Essential Functions:
Assist with field surveying tasks, including data collection, equipment setup, and operation of GPS, total stations, and data collectors.
Conduct measurements and record data accurately, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
Process survey data in the office, preparing basic maps, reports, and documentation to support project requirements.
Collaborate with survey crew members and senior survey technicians to develop efficient workflows and accurate survey plans.
Maintain survey equipment, ensuring that all instruments are calibrated, functional, and properly stored.
Support quality control efforts by checking data for accuracy and addressing any discrepancies in collaboration with senior staff.
Assist with preparing CAD files and survey documents under the guidance of a survey CAD specialist or senior survey technician.
Participate in team meetings to discuss project requirements, progress, and field conditions.
Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while working on-site and handling survey equipment. Secondary Essential Functions:

Required
High school diploma or GED, with coursework in Surveying or Geomatics preferred.
1-2 years of experience in surveying or a related field.
Valid driver's license Preferred
Experience with CAD software or survey data processing tools. Physical Requirements:
Ability to remain seated for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings.
Frequent use of standard office equipment, including computers, keyboards, telephones, and printers.
Occasional light physical activity such as walking, standing, or carrying materials (50 lbs.).
