The Big Picture
Lebanon Methodist Church (South Carolina) ( is seeking a full-time Pastor. The Pastor serves as the spiritual leader and primary preacher of Lebanon Methodist Church; an independent Methodist congregation rooted in Wesleyan theology. This role involves shepherding the congregation through worship, discipleship, pastoral care, and mission, while providing visionary leadership that equips the church to grow in faith, service, and community impact.

Responsibilities
Preaching and Worship
Lead weekly worship services through biblically sound and engaging sermons grounded in Scripture.
Plan and oversee the church's liturgical calendar and special services (e.g., Advent, Lent, Easter, Christmas).
Administer the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion.
Collaborate with worship leaders, musicians, and volunteers to cultivate meaningful, Spirit-led worship. Pastoral Care
Provide compassionate care, spiritual counseling, and support to individuals and families.
Visit and minister to the sick, hospitalized, grieving, and homebound.
Officiate weddings, funerals, and other pastoral ceremonies. Vision and Spiritual Leadership
Discern and communicate a God-centered spiritual vision that upholds the belief that salvation is rooted in the life, work, and blood of Jesus Christ.
Foster a congregational culture of prayer, Scripture engagement, and Christ-centered living.
Collaborate with the Church Administrative Board and the Council of Ministries to align church ministries with the church's mission.
Participate in strategic planning and church-wide initiatives in a pastoral advisory role. Discipleship and Spiritual Formation
Promote a culture of discipleship through Bible studies, small groups, and teaching opportunities.
Equip and mentor ministry leaders and volunteers.
Encourage spiritual growth, theological understanding, and active participation in the life of the church. Mission and Outreach
Lead and encourage the church's local and global outreach efforts.
Represent the church within the wider community, fostering partnerships with other organizations and congregations.
Promote acts of mercy, justice, and evangelism. Qualifications
Ordained pastor or eligible for ordination through a recognized body.
Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent theological training from an accredited institution preferred.
Demonstrated preaching and pastoral experience.
Strong understanding of and commitment to Wesleyan/Methodist doctrine, deeply rooted in Scripture.
Excellent relational, organizational, and leadership skills.
Personal integrity, humility, and a shepherd's heart for God's people. Congregational Priorities

Fellowship & Pastoral Presence: Attend social and ministry events, cultivate relationships, and foster a spirit of connection and care.
Proclamation of the Word: Preach God's Word with conviction, apply Scripture to contemporary needs, and prioritize sermon preparation.
Visitation - Hospital & Crisis: Provide timely pastoral presence for those who are ill, hospitalized, or in crisis.
Discipleship: Emphasize spiritual growth and equip believers through teaching and accountable relationships.
Intergenerational Ministry: Engage and value all age groups, including children, youth, adults, and seniors.
Worship Leadership: Lead meaningful worship and encourage full congregational participation in the church's spiritual life.
Congregational Communication: Promote open, two-way communication, ensuring that varying perspectives are heard and respected.
Teaching Ministry: Teach Scripture, theology, church history, and Christian living; lead Bible studies and classes; equip leaders; and prepare new members. Benefits
