Quality Engineer - 1st Shift

Join our team as a full-time, salaried Quality Engineer and play a key role in ensuring that products meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. In this role, you will develop and implement quality systems, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate across teams to prevent defects and enhance customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do

Lead and support new program development to meet internal and external customer requirements, including APQP processes, Control Plans, PFMEAs, flow diagrams, capability analysis, gaging/fixtures, and mistake-proofing tools.

Create and maintain quality documentation for corrective and preventive actions, process updates, PPAP and ECN approvals, and deviations/waivers.

Partner with the Program Manager to support successful new program launches.

Serve as the primary customer contact for quality and delivery concerns, process changes, and performance updates.

Review and approve PPAP submissions, ensuring compliance with customer-specific requirements and IATF 16949 standards.

Participate in customer-focused activities, performance reviews, report-outs, and quality-related meetings.

Lead cross-functional problem-solving efforts using structured methodologies such as 8D, Shainin Red X, 5P, and 5-Why.

Coordinate containment activities and product return processes for internal and external concerns.

Stay current on AIAG and IATF 16949 standards, customer expectations, and compliance requirements.

Conduct layered process audits and support ongoing improvement initiatives.

What You Bring

Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Bachelor's degree preferred.

Certifications (Plus): Blueprint reading, SPC, problem-solving training, ISO/IATF audit training.

Experience: 3+ years in quality engineering, preferably in automotive manufacturing. Strong understanding of PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and Control Plan development.
