Abstract moderate to highly complex clinical data using established definitions and guidelines and maintain an abstracting volume to meet internal and external reporting deadlines.
Perform clinical review of a medical record and summarize the findings to facilitate additional review.
Reviews patient non-compliance lists and conducts outreach to ensure timely disease specific and wellness visits.
Collects and tracks monthly, quarterly and annual process improvement measures.
Conducts analysis of data in cooperation with the medical staff to assist in identification of improvement activities.
Understands current issues, practices and trends in healthcare and communicates to employees as appropriate.
Presents data collected in an organized format to facilitate analysis and identification of improvement opportunities.
Provides documented reports of findings from data collection as requested.
Provides education to medical staff members and hospital staff as appropriate to enhance performance and documentation.

Must be located in Tucson, AZ
Supports clinical performance through abstraction, review, and reporting of medical record clinical documentation and billing assessment, to support initiatives related to quality improvement, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
Education: High school diploma/GED required with completion of Medical Assistant Program strongly preferred.
Experience: Two (2) years of clerical and customer service. Experience in health-related field and bilingual preferred.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Working knowledge of clinical workflows
Knowledge of Electronic Health Systems
Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT codes

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, calculators, etc.
Work Environment: Position is in a well-lit office environment. Occasional evening and weekend work.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Involves sitting approximately 75 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder, using computers and telephones.
