The Quality & Food Safety Manager is responsible for leading and managing all Quality, Food Safety, Sanitation, and Regulatory programs. This role ensures that raw materials, production processes, and finished products meet company, customer, and regulatory standards. The manager provides leadership, technical expertise, and cross-functional support to maintain a strong food safety culture and ensure operational excellence.
Leadership & Program Management
Lead the Quality department’s team, daily operations, and long-term strategy.
Develop, implement, and maintain quality and food safety policies, procedures, and programs.
Oversee GMP, QA, Sanitation, and customer-related quality programs.
Manage quality systems for incoming materials, in-process checks, finished products, and distribution.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across quality and food safety functions. Regulatory & Certification Compliance
Serve as SQF Practitioner, PCQI, and HACCP Coordinator.
Manage SQF program development, maintenance, audits, and corrective actions.
Oversee compliance with FSMA, GFCO, Kosher, Organic, GFFP, and other regulatory or certification programs.
Maintain and lead the gluten-free program and related audits. Audits, Testing & Environmental Monitoring
Conduct facility audits and deliver clear reports with follow-up action plans.
Lead internal and external food safety audits; support teams during audit preparation and execution.
Manage the HACCP system and update control points as needed.
Oversee environmental monitoring and conduct lab testing (Listeria, Salmonella, air quality, microbial testing, etc.). Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Production, Maintenance, NPD, Warehousing, and Transportation to ensure quality and safety standards in products, processes, and equipment.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting to resolve food safety or quality concerns.
Communicate daily with department leaders to address quality issues and updates. Customer Relations
Manage customer complaints, ensure timely investigation, and implement corrective actions.
Maintain effective communication with customers regarding quality expectations and resolutions.
