Head Start Teacher Assistant- $16.50-$17.00/hour

Pro Action's Head Start Program is looking for a full-time, 10 month, teaching assistant for their classroom at the Stewart Park school. The Teaching Assistant partners with the Teacher in the planning and implementation of daily activities in the Pre-K classroom, adhering to Head Start Performance Standards, NYS Office of Children and Family Services Day Care Regulations and all other applicable program regulations. Working in a team environment, the Teaching Assistant will participate in weekly planning sessions, attend training and meetings as required, ensure a safe and healthy classroom environment, assist in classroom, and program modifications and help with inventory as needed.

Requirements

The Teaching Assistant position requires an associate degree or Child Development Associate (CDA) or current enrollment in a program leading to a CDA or associate's degree and experience in a preschool program setting. The ideal candidate must work well with children, have basic computer skills and excellent organization.
