industry, SSCG develops and manages a wide range real estate projects, mostly in the self-storage industry nationwide. As part of ourcontinued growth, we are seeking a skilled and experienced working Excavating Superintendent to join our dynamic

development and construction team.

Position Summary:

The Excavating Superintendent will be responsible for safely operating and transporting a variety of

heavy machinery (2024 GMC 3500 Dually), including a CAT 305 Mini Excavator (2024), CAT 255 D3 Skid

steer (2024), 240 CAT Backhoe and Hammer, Massey Tractor, as well as other heavy equipment. The role also

involves operating mentioned machinery, using a one-ton dually truck and trailer for transportation of

equipment, and general labor on the construction site as well as maintenance projects at various development sites. Role will also work closely with our construction dept to bid projects, control costs in the field, supervise other laborers and machine operators. Position is a management role that will oversee various aspects and needs of the development company. This can include smaller maintenance projects on existing buildings, overseeing deployment and return of company owned rental equipment (dumpsters/ fencing/ etc.)

Key Responsibilities:

Operate a CAT 305 Mini Excavator

Operate a CAT 255 Skid steer (Auger, Trencher, and Grapple attachments).

Operate a Massey Grading Tractor

Operate a CAT 420 Backhoe (Hammer attachment)

Load, unload and transport machinery using a one-ton dually truck and trailer.

Safely drive and transport equipment to various job sites.

Perform fleet management on all equipment.

Work with construction dept to bid projects, schedule projects, and carry out scope gap projects.

Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines on job sites.

Travel to job sites as required and stay on location for up to a week based on worksite needs.

Complete various maintenance projects using company provided hand tools.

Ability to manage others and report back to supervisor comments and observations.

Management skills to supervise various sub-contractors an employees

Qualifications:

1+ years of experience operating a grade tractor.

3+ year of experience reading construction drawings

3+ years of experience operating Mini Excavators, Backhoes and Skid steers

CDL license (class B or higher)

Forklift certified

Organizational skills to keep track of various company assets (trailers, equipment and hand tools).

Computer skills, time is kept in phone apps and productivity is tracked by the hour in a phone app.

Pay: $30 - $38 an hour
