TITLE: Instructional Aide - Preschool

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 60 college credits or passing score on the ParaProfessional Assessment Test

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Building Principal, Elementary Assistant Principal

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10-month position; teacher calendar

FUNCTION: Provide instructional and classroom support across multiple preschool classrooms as assigned. The floater aide assists teachers in maintaining a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment and provides support wherever needed to ensure smooth daily operations.

EVALUATION: Performance in this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with Board Policy, and administrative directives and be consistent with the terms and conditions of employment.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES (FLOATER) INSTRUCTIONAL AIDE - PRESCHOOL:

Provides instructional and classroom support in various preschool classrooms as assigned by administration.

Demonstrates flexibility in adapting to different classroom environments, teaching styles, and student needs.

Assists classroom teachers with daily activities, routines, and transitions.

Supports students in maintaining positive behavior and staying on task.

Assists teachers with instructional activities for individual students or small groups.

Helps prepare and organize classroom materials, curriculum, and programs.

Supports students' social, emotional, and developmental needs in alignment with preschool program goals.

Maintains communication with teachers and administrators to ensure consistent support across classrooms.

Performs other related duties and activities as assigned, consistent with the position of instructional aide and school aide responsibilities.
