A vacancy exists for a Water Safety Instructor within the Division of Student Services of the Chester County Intermediate Unit at the Child and Career Development Center in Coatesville, PA.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Water Safety Certification required.

Lifeguard Certification strongly preferred

Experience with special education students preferred

Current police, child abuse & FBI Fingerprint clearances required. Duties & Responsibilities:

Organize and provide Water Safety Instruction to special needs students during the school year.

Ensure students' safety and health during swimming instruction.

Maintain complete and accurate records and reports regarding number of students in attendance, pool resources and materials, and pool maintenance.

Adhere to Department of Health regulations and requirements for the safe and healthy operation of a swimming pool.

Maintain discipline and control of students in collaboration with the classroom teacher(s).

Maintain equipment in a safe and clean manner.

Inform the principal or building and grounds supervisor of any problems pertaining to health and safety.

Follow CCIU Board policy and CCDC school procedures for student discipline.

Salary Range (2024-2025 SY)

Support Band 10: $20.85/hr. - $26.06/hr. ($29,085.75/yr. - $36,353.70/yr.)

*Placement on salary band based on experience in a similar role*

Schedule:

Monday through Friday

Hours as needed up to 7.5/day
