The purpose of this position is to perform routine part-time support services directing traffic in conjunction with the moving of children to and from school.

Job Responsibilities

Major Duties

Controls vehicular traffic at designated crossing to allow children to cross safely; Controls children using the crossing to assure that they conform to traffic regulations;

Takes appropriate action with children who fail to cooperate and reports such action to immediate supervisor;

Reports motorists who fail to observe safe motor vehicle operation in school crossing zone. Supervisory/Management Responsibility

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements

Any combination and education and experience equivalent to completion of the eleventh grade.

Knowledge Requirements

Some knowledge of traffic regulations;

Some knowledge of school locations and traffic patterns;

Ability and willingness to work in inclement weather through-out the year;

Ability to follow oral and written instructions; dependability; courtesy.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

The work is performed outside while standing and walking.

This is a temporary part-time position and there are no benefits designated for such.
