Purpose:

Work closely with the operational and maintenance teams to insure that equipment is in good working order and identify improvements that can lead to efficiency improvements, cost reduction and better employee engagement.

Essential Functions:

Support all plant safety initiatives

Instigate studies and actions to resolve technical problems, reduce waste and improve team performance throughout the cold end

Monitor, together with team members, process performance in order to identify areas for improvement and coordinate an/or lead corrective actions as necessary.

Assist with mechanical improvements through TPM, P.M., and Capital Expenditure Projects.

Maintain/update mechanical and site drawings

Assist in the commissioning new plant equipment and other systems to ensure that the introduction into the production facility is handled efficiently and within minimum disruption.

Lead studies and actions to improve the efficiency of the area and maintain assets.

Promote process standards that correspond to the plant's objectives, costs and supply in order to meet the needs of the customer.

Initiating and following up on plant cost savings ideas

Be the primary site contact for the design, install and implementation of new equipment.

Lead site activities with regards to new equipment during all phases of projects.

Interface effectively with contractors to ensure implementation success.

Build the timeline and scope of projects and develop needs to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.

Resolve issues that arise from daily project problems for completion.

Maintain progress reports of all projects and report to Manager.

Identify future projects to ensure Plant sustainability and promote continuous improvement.

Schedule preventive maintenance and training procedures for new equipment and review existing documents.

Occasional travel may be required, less than twice per year.

Support the operation process, understanding the process is a 24/7 operation, becoming a member on rotation of our on-call team.

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical or similar Engineering discipline or equivalent work experience

Solid Works and Auto Cad proficiency a definite plus

Digital Printing Qualifications Desired:

SAP experience

Project management and coordinating activities

Advanced Excel user - use of formulas and macros

Lean Manufacturing problem solving tools

Presentation skills

Active listening with clear, accurate and concise communication

Knowledge base in electrical and programming a plus

Able to demonstrate good problem-solving driven by data

Ability to rapidly learn new concepts with little to no supervision

Must be able to lead and train maintenance and operators on new equipment being installed.

Deal with contractors on a regular basis.

Strong written and oral communication skills
