Parent Educator: PAT Educators are responsible for helping families of pre-school aged children select/support developmentally appropriate activites and learning opportunities in an effort to prepare children to successfully tranistion to the school environment. We are here to help! :)

REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must have 40 credit hours of college/university relevant to child development

Must attend virtual training(s) upon hire

Applicants must maintain a valid driver's license and local travel is required SUPERVISES:

Senior Educator JOB GOALS:

Work with families to integrate teaching and learning into early child development

Supports appropriate child development in cooperation with families

Provide child development resources and support as necessary PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Implement the policies of the Board of Education.

Communicate appropriately with supervisors, other employees, families, and agencies.

Maintain a friendly and helpful environment.

Maintain an acceptable standard of personal appearance.

Obtain/maintain full state certification

Implement lessons and strategies that support the goals and vision of the Missouri Parents as Teachers program

Provide a variety of planned learning experiences using a variety of media and methods, including alternative intervention strategies, in order to motivate students and best utilize available time for instruction.

Evaluate, record, and report student academic and social growth within the guidelines prescribed in state law or adopted by the school district/program.

Identify areas of student concern and cooperate with other professional staff members in addressing those areas of concern.

Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress.

Participate in curriculum and other developmental programs as required by district policy and state guidelines.

Participate in program activities.

Maintain professional competence through professional development activities provided by the district and in self-selected professional growth activities.

Participate in the identification of at -risk and gifted students and implement steps to meet their individual needs.

Teach from materials which reflect multi-cultural, non-gender-biased, and global experiences.

Participate cooperatively with the principal/team in accordance with the program's guidelines.

Assume responsibility for tasks other than those listed which may be assigned by a supervisor. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Part-Time/Hourly Total: 164 contracted days
